Our Brand's Meaning

In case you thought SUMONAS (soo-mo-nus) was made up to confuse everybody, actually, it wasn’t. “Sumati” means “good mind” in Sanskrit, and it just so happens to be Feiona’s Hindu name. At home, family and friends affectionately refer to her by the nickname “Ona”.

The last letter acts as a segue into the design of our logo, which perfectly captures the essence of the Chakras.

A skillful application of this concept by enthusiasts like Feiona will help remove the blockages in your organization and unlock its potential to find balanced flows of energy.

Meet Our Founder

Feiona Gobin, CAE

A Certified Association Executive who leads with a calm yet assertive confidence. Never one to rest on her accomplishments, she stays sharp by setting out on new adventures that inspire learning and trust.

Ambitious goal-setters like Feiona are also active listeners who look for promising opportunities and pragmatic solutions where others only fixate on problems. Every project with her is an exercise in pivoting towards tactics and strategies that will finally propel your projects forward.

Feiona believes in giving back, she is a member and devoted volunteer on the board of the Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners acting as the VP of Events. In this role Feiona leads the charge in delivering second to none events along with many other passionate volunteers.

In addition to volunteering, Feiona has been entrusted to design and deliver the Hotel Sales and Catering course in the Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation Program to 120+ international students. She also leads other instructors in delivering this course successfully to an additional 80+ international students. As if that wasn't enough, Feiona is in pursuit of her Masters in Tourism Management Degree from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC.
